Linux Hard drive benchmarking

Linux Hard drive benchmarking (on Dell 2400 2.2 GHz 7200 RPM 40 gig HDD)

[root@server shop]# hdparm -Tt /dev/hda

Timing buffered disk reads: 124 MB in 3.00 seconds = 41.33 MB/sec

[root@server home]# hdparm /dev/hda
