Set up Linux to sync its time with a time server
ntpdate server
should do the trick from the command line or cron job.
e.g.
[root@server root]# ntpdate time.nist.gov
17 Apr 15:53:26 ntpdate[29455]: step time server 192.43.244.18 offset -0.715067 sec
